Leaning Tower of Pisa

The Tower of Pisa is a world-famous architectural wonder located in Pisa, Italy. Built in the 12th century, the tower is a freestanding bell tower that leans at a dramatic angle due to the soft soil and foundation issues.

The tower stands at over 55 meters tall and features eight floors, with a spiral staircase leading to the top. It was originally constructed as a symbol of Pisa’s power and wealth, but began to lean during its construction due to the soft ground beneath it. Despite efforts to straighten the tower over the centuries, it has remained tilted and has become an iconic symbol of Italy. Today, the tower is a popular tourist attraction and visitors can climb the tower’s staircase to enjoy stunning views of Pisa and its surrounding areas.
