Son Doong Cave
Son Doong Cave is located in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park in Vietnam and is the largest known cave passage in the world. It was first discovered in 1991 by a local farmer but was not fully explored and mapped until 2009.
Son Doong is estimated to be around 3 million years old and contains unique geological formations, such as large stalactites and stalagmites. Visitors to the cave are required to be accompanied by licensed tour guides and must obtain a permit from the park authorities due to its sensitive ecological status.
